Position Summary
The Instructional Technology Coordinator is responsible for supporting and managing the effective use of technology within the instructional environment while ensuring reliable technical support for school operations. This position provides on-site technical assistance to staff, maintains instructional technology systems and devices, supports network and classroom technology infrastructure, and assists in implementing technology initiatives aligned with Concept Schools’ educational goals.
The Instructional Technology Coordinator works closely with school administration, teachers, students, and the Concept Schools IT Department to ensure technology systems operate efficiently, securely, and effectively in support of teaching and learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Information Technology, instructional technology, or a related field preferred.
- Iowa teaching license preferred.
- Candidates holding an Iowa substitute authorization or paraprofessional endorsement will also be considered.
- Experience supporting students in instructional settings, intervention programs, or MTSS frameworks preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Knowledge of computer systems, educational technology platforms, and instructional applications.
- Understanding of classroom and instructional technologies.
- Ability to repair and maintain computer and technology equipment.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, cloud-based systems, and educational software platforms preferred.
- Knowledge of Chromebook, iPad, laptop, desktop, smartboard, copier, and printer support.
- Basic understanding of networking, internet connectivity, and device management systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively to technical support requests.
- Ability to maintain accurate inventories and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to school personnel for instructional and operational technology systems.
- Ensure timely on-site support to staff experiencing technology-related issues.
- Support the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Chromebooks, iPads, laptops, desktop computers, smartboards, copiers, printers, and other instructional devices.
- Assist with maintenance and upgrades of technology equipment, software, and systems.
- Coordinate and arrange repairs for malfunctioning technology equipment.
- Assist with school network, internet, phone, and classroom technology support as needed.
- Support educational technology platforms such as Google Workspace, Clever, GoGuardian, Edlio, and related systems.
- Serve as liaison between the school and Concept Schools IT Department.
- Assist staff with effective integration and use of instructional technology resources.
Inventory and Asset Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records for computers, devices, instructional technology equipment, and related materials.
- Manage technology repair parts and supply inventory.
- Assist with technology asset tracking, setup, and deployment.
- Support software installation, updates, and license tracking.
Training and Collaboration
- Provide basic training and guidance to staff regarding technology tools and systems.
- Support implementation of technology initiatives and best practices within the school.
- Collaborate with school administration and central office IT personnel on technology needs and improvements.
- Participate in IT meetings, trainings, and professional development activities as assigned.
Compliance and Administrative Responsibilities
- Gather, maintain, and file required hardcopy and electronic reports, records, and documentation in accordance with school, state, and federal requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of student, staff, and organizational information.
- Comply with all federal and state laws, Commissioner’s Rules, and Concept Schools policies and procedures.
- Follow all school routines, safety procedures, and operational regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Student Supports
- May provide academic, behavioral, or technology-based tiered interventions for students through the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.
- Support teachers and intervention teams through data collection, progress monitoring, instructional technology integration, and implementation of intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, and student support teams to improve student outcomes.
- Support and assist with STEM-focused student enrichment opportunities and programs including, but not limited to, MathCON, STEMCON, robotics, coding clubs, esports, science fairs, and other extracurricular or competition-based initiatives aligned with the school’s STEM mission.
