Horizon Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking compassionate Direct Care Workers in West Babylon, NY. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering their independence and improving their quality of life.
Job Details:
- Flexible Hours - Shifts available 7 days a week from 7am-3pm, 3pm-1pm, and 11pm-7am
- We offer full-time, part-time, and per diem positions to accommodate your schedule
Responsibilities:
- Assist, monitor, and teach individuals in the preparation of daytime activities, encouraging good personal hygiene and appropriate behavior in their home or apartment
- Collaborate with the Direct Care Supervisor to assess each individual's abilities, interests, and areas of need towards independent living
- Participate in the development of individual support plans (ISP) and ensure staff behavior aligns with the goals set forth within each ISP
- Provide guidance in budgeting skills and assist individuals in developing essential life skills
Qualifications:
- CPR Certification
- Physical exam from the past year
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working with the developmentally disabled population
