Cranberry Marsh Worker - Seasonal

The Cranberry Marsh Worker is a seasonal position responsible for general labor functions for cranberry marshes. This employee will perform manual work associated with the planting, cultivating, crop protection, irrigation, and harvesting of cranberries. As needed, the employee will also perform general care and upkeep of the marsh facilities, properties, and equipment.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide timely farming operations, including irrigation and frost watch, with frequent oversight from the Marsh Manager.
• Operation and daily maintenance of farming equipment used on the property with frequent oversight from the Marsh Manager.
• Assisting other employees in performing their duties efficiently and effectively. Promptly report problems or successes and any other reports the Marsh Manager requires.
• Following company safety policies and procedures.
• Performing duties as assigned daily by the Marsh Manager.
• All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license.
• Detail-oriented and goal-driven.

Education & Experience:

• Previous experience in farming and equipment operation is preferred.
• Experience in basic farm equipment maintenance is beneficial.
• Must work well with management and communicate well with others.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to walk long distances
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and kneeling
• Must be willing to work outdoors, in all weather conditions
• Lift to 75 lbs. occasionally, and 25 lbs. regularly.
• Requires the ability to clearly understand verbal and written communication from others in person and by telephone.

Work Schedule:

• The Cranberry Marsh Worker - Seasonal work schedule highly depends on the time of year and weather conditions. During Harvest, employees will be expected to work as needed, so daily and weekly hours and times worked will be flexible.
• Work Hours: Typically, 6:30am to 4:30 PM; however, earlier start and end times may be required, and some weekends may be required.
• Hours Per Week: 40-50 hours per week.

Compensation:

The Cranberry Marsh Worker - Seasonal position pay is $18 per hour.

Work Location:

This position is located at Horizon Cranberry Farms, LLC, 468 County Road C, Hancock, WI 54943.

In Adams County, near the border of Waushara County.

The facility is approximately:

• Less than 20 minutes from Bancroft, Coloma, or Plainfield.
• About 30 minutes from Adams, Almond, Necedah, Nekoosa, Wautoma, Westfield, or Wild Rose
• About 35-40 minutes from Red Granite, Stevens Point, or Wisconsin Rapids.
