Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Monitor client health and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being
- Support clients with mobility assistance and transfers as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy
- Assist with memory care strategies for clients experiencing cognitive challenges
- Utilize first aid techniques when necessary to ensure client safety
Skills
- Proficient in cooking and meal preparation tailored to dietary needs
- Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living space
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality
- Experience in social work or related fields is preferred
- Familiarity with home community care practices and senior care protocols
- Ability to effectively monitor patients and recognize when medical attention is needed
- Certification in first aid is a plus
- Experience in memory care techniques for individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- A compassionate approach to caregiving, demonstrating patience and empathy at all times
Experience & Qualifications
- PSS Certificate required or willingness to obtain within 9 months (must begin class within 2 months of hire)
- Prefer at least 1 year of experience in client care
- Background in social work or related fields is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with diverse clients
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
