General Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and closeout of construction projects, with a primary focus on client satisfaction, schedule adherence, and project profitability. This role manages contractual documentation, financial performance, change management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and on or under budget.
Responsibilities:
§ Lead project planning and execution from pre-construction through closeout.
§ Attend pre-construction meetings and facilitate clear, effective communication with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
§ Prepare, issue, and manage subcontractors and purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
§ Oversee change management processes, including documentation, pricing, approvals, and execution.
§ Develop, maintain, and update project budget, job costs reports, and financial forecasts.
§ Assist the accounting team with customer invoicing, billing reviews, and revenue tracking.
§ Obtain required permits to ensure regulatory compliance.
§ Provide Project Superintendents with the tools, information, and support necessary to successfully manage daily field operations.
§ Conduct regular site visits and lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.
§ Track and process submittals and Requests for Information (RFI) in a timely and organized manner.
§ Monitor project performance to ensure projects are completed on schedule and on or under budget.
§ Maintain strong client relationships through proactive, transparent, and solution-oriented communication.
§ Collaborate with internal teams to resolve project issues, mitigate risk, and support continuous improvement.
§ Assist with estimating, bid preparation, and project handoff as needed.
§ Follow established process controls and Horizon’s standards for effective project management.
§ Perform additional duties as assigned to support company and project goals.
Knowledge & Skills:
§ Strong understanding of construction means and methods, contract administration, and cost control.
§ Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
§ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
§ Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and financial reporting tools preferred.
Qualifications:
§ Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
§ Minimum of five years of project management experience with a commercial General Contractor or Construction Manager.
