Our North American Semiconductor group is searching for an experienced Technical Product Support Specialist to join our team in Portland, OR.

In this exciting role, you will focus on 4 key areas:

1. Product Management Support

1. Assist the Product Manager with product planning, roadmap execution, and market introduction activities.
2. Gather customer and market feedback to support product improvement and next-generation development.
3. Help prepare business cases, competitive analyses, and product positioning materials.

1. Technical Sales Enablement

1. Travel with regional sales teams to provide technical expertise and product demonstrations to customers.
2. Support customer meetings, trade shows, and technology workshops by presenting the technical and application benefits of HORIBA metrology solutions.
3. Collaborate with engineering teams to translate customer requirements into actionable product specifications or configuration guidance.

       3.  Customer Engagement & Market Insight

1. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and channel partners to understand their evolving process needs.
2. Participate in technical discussions to identify and clarify application opportunities for HORIBA solutions.
3. Collect market intelligence on competitors, emerging technologies, and customer roadmaps to inform product strategy.

       4.  Cross-Functional Collaboration

1. Coordinate with engineering, service, and marketing teams to ensure alignment across product activities.
2. Support technical documentation, user manuals, and training resources to enhance customer experience.
3. Contribute to global communication between regional offices, manufacturing, and R&D for product alignment and planning.

You will bring the following skills and knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, materials science, or a related technical discipline or 8 years’ experience in same/similar disciplines,
• 3–7 years of experience in semiconductor equipment, metrology, or a related technical field.
• Exposure to customer-facing roles such as applications engineering, field support, or product support preferred.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, including lithography, deposition, etch, and inspection/metrology.
• Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with metrology and inspection techniques. Emphasis given for technologies such as Raman spectroscopy, laser-scattering, ellipsometry, AOI, Pholuminescence, or X-ray metrology.
• Ability to interpret process flows, system specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and presentation abilities, with confidence explaining technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and cultures.
• Self-starter with curiosity to learn and initiative to contribute beyond assigned tasks.
• Other Requirements:
• Willingness/ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 30–40%).
• Ability to drive for the company, or access to reasonable transportation to visit customers 
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and globally integrated environment.
