TITLE: High School Assistant Principal
TYPE OF POSITION: Full-time (1.0); 12 Month work year; anticipated start date 07/01/2026 salary commensurate with experience (range $125,000-$130,000/year)

The High School Assistant Principal assists the principal in the overall administration of the school, and provides a school-wide leadership model. The Assistant Principal serves as a principal in the absence of the regular principal.
FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT (FLSA) CLASSIFICATION:
This position is classified as Exempt (Professional).
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
The Assistant Principal reports to the principal, and supervises and evaluates professional teaching staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed, or eligible for licensures as a Principal/Assistant Principal by the Massachusetts Department of Education, to include Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement;
- Bachelor’s Degree, Master's Degree preferred in Education or a related field;
- Successful administrative experience in an education setting;
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state licensure requirements.
DUTIES:
- Supervises teachers and departments as assigned by the principal;
- Supervises the preparation of master schedule, and proposes class schedules and extracurricular activities;
- Works with department heads and faculty in compiling the annual budget requests;
- Coordinates MCAS testing with the Guidance department;
- Assists in emergency planning and crisis response;
- Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services;
- Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body , and supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance;
- Coordinates substitute teacher coverage as needed;
- Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives;
- Other duties as required.
