What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Family Education Assistant position at Hopkins Public Schools?
- Assists in ECFE (Birth to age 5) or ECFE Sibling Care classroom as needed.
- Assists in non-class time work (prep work to support teachers, program needs) as needed.
- Refers questions, concerns, and comments from participants about parenting, child development, and classroom summaries to supervising, licensed teachers.
- Prepares activities and equipment as directed.
- Gives attention to each student according to their needs and abilities while maintaining supervision and intervening for safety in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Participates in activities with the children and/or parents when appropriate.
- Promotes a positive image of the program by maintaining open and positive communication between the sites, school staff, parents, and community.
- Assists in inventory and identifies the need for ordering supplies managed through the classroom teacher or Google Drive tools.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training when required.
- Promotes and supports the overall mission of the District by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Two (2) years of paid experience working with children.
- OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

SUMMARY:
Assist in the Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classrooms and Program events by supporting the maintenance of a safe, culturally inclusive, developmentally appropriate space for students and families.
