DSP-Direct Support Professional (Adult Care-Mental Health-Evening and Weekend Shifts)

Hopewell is a not for profit therapeutic farm community set on a picturesque 325-acre working farm located near Middlefield, Ohio. Hopewell combines clinical care, meaningful work, and a natural farm environment to help adults with serious mental illness develop skills to manage mental illness and live more independently. Our residential therapeutic community encourages socialization, respect and acceptance for all.

We are currently seeking compassionate, person-centered, and caring applicants to support and engage our residents as a part-time or full-time Direct Support Professional. Hours available include evening and weekends. Our evening and weekend shifts are supported by nursing and clinical on call staff. Shift differentials available for weekend shifts.

Basic responsibilities include:

• Assisting residents with medication (training provided).
• Assist residents with cleaning and care of their environment, including but not limited to light housekeeping tasks, laundry, changing of linens, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, etc.
• Assist with residents’ personal care as needed.
• Encouraging and engaging residents in activities and groups.
• Assist with and work to strengthen resident’s activities of daily living needs and goals.
• Transport residents to appointments or other off-property trips as needed.

Candidate Must:

• Be at least 22 years in age.
• Valid Driver License
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pass pre-employment background checks and drug test.
• Have experience working with adults diagnosed with mental illness.
• STNA or Caregiver experience (preferred)

$15.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience (shift differential available for overnight and weekend shifts)

Sign on bonus of $1,000 available after six months of employment has been completed.
