This role is great for people who enjoy helping kids grow, learn, and build confidence in the community. If you’ve supported a child, sibling, or loved one with daily routines, communication, or personal care — your experience is incredibly valuable here.
If you’re exploring psychology, education, ABA, social work, or human services, this role provides strong hands‑on experience.
Many of our strongest DSPs come from personal caregiving backgrounds or from psych/education/ABA programs.
We match you with youth for a minimum of 6 to 12 months for predictable travel and consistent routines.
What You’ll Do (Youth‑Focused)
You’ll support children and teens with I/DD in their homes and communities through:
Behavioral & Skill‑Building Support
- Supporting communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
- Modeling positive behavior and coping strategies
- Helping youth build independence and confidence
- Engaging in fun, structured community activities (parks, library, YMCA, outings) Following clear behavior‑support strategies and safety plans
Daily Living Support (Explained Clearly & Calmly)
- Assisting with toileting routines, including pull‑ups or diapers when needed
- Providing basic personal care depending on the youth’s needs
- Administering medication after completing our paid training and certification
We provide in person and virtual training, clear expectations, and ongoing coaching so you always feel prepared.
Part‑Time Full‑Time Pathway (If Desired)
You’ll start part‑time while we build your caseload.
If you want full‑time hours, you can transition to 30 hours/week once matched with additional youth.
Most staff reach full‑time within 60 days but staying part‑time is also an option.
Requirements
- 18
- Driver’s license reliable transportation - our youth love getting out into the community
- Able to pass background checks
- Comfortable supporting youth with I/DD and daily living needs
- Strong communication, patience, and follow‑through
- Experience in caregiving, childcare, or supporting a loved one is a plus Interest in behavioral support, psychology, education, ABA, or human services
Compensation
