Title:  Transit Fleet Mechanic

Location:   Kent, WA

Work schedule: 

          During Training: Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm

          Multiple shifts available after training:

                    Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

                    Sunday-Thursday 7:00am to 3:30pm

The career opportunity: 

The Hopelink Automotive Service Technician will perform work within diagnosis, repair and service of Medium & Heavy-Duty buses & other smaller passenger fleet vehicles with gasoline and diesel engines. This role is primarily responsible for preventive maintenance, Fleet inspections and related repairs daily.

  • The ideal candidate will bring previous experience in an automotive shop setting with diagnosing and troubleshooting Diesel & Gasoline vehicles.
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience and/or training in a shop environment
  • Must have the ability to use industry software programs and technology used

Licenses, certificates, and other requirements:

  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with acceptable driving history
  • Valid CDL or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire (paid training is provided)
  • Valid DOT medical certification card
  • ASE Certifications preferred, but not required
  • Must have personal/appropriate hand tools relevant to the job
  • Must have work boots with oil resistant soles

 

**Due to Federal Regulations, this position is considered a Safety Sensitive Position, therefore employees are required to undergo a full criminal background check and pre-employment Federal DOT drug screening, and are subject to random screenings, which include THC among other restricted substances.

 

Examples of what you will be doing:

  • Perform fleet scheduled preventative maintenance (oil changes, Brake & Air suspension repairs, tire repairs & parts replacements.)
  • Inspect, diagnose, service or repair fleet vehicles
  • Complete all documentation work orders in fleet management software
  • Ensure accurate upgrade and/or modifications on fleet transit vehicles, road calls, and on-the-road repairs as needed
  • Maintain shop, equipment and tool cleanliness
  • Operate standard shop equipment including computerized wheel balancer and various hydraulic service lifts

 

How you will be compensated: Hopelink is proud to provide meaningful paid time away from work and an affordable, comprehensive benefits package.

  • Compensation: $28 to $34 Per Hour DOE
  • New Hire Incentive:  $3,000
  • Up to 10 paid vacation and sick days annually and 10 paid holidays, 
  • Plus up to 7 paid float days available to use immediately; dependent on hire date and hours/week
