Role Description The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) role at Hopeful Horizons ABA is a full-time, on-site position located in McKinney, TX. The RBT works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized ABA treatment plans for children with autism and developmental differences. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing direct one-on-one therapy, collecting and recording data on client progress, and following behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs. The RBT supports the development of communication, social skills, daily living skills, and coping strategies, while promoting a safe, nurturing, and assent-based environment. The role also involves collaborating with clinical supervisors and families, participating in team meetings, and maintaining professional and ethical standards of care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or eligibility to obtain RBT certification within a specified timeframe.
- Experience or training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), including implementation of behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage children, collaborate with families, and work effectively within a clinical team.
- Ability to collect accurate behavioral data, follow clinical protocols, and use observations to inform treatment implementation.
- Capacity to maintain patience, empathy, and professionalism while supporting children with challenging behaviors and diverse needs.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, special education, or related field preferred.
- Comfort with active, hands-on work, including sitting on the floor, engaging in play-based activities, and assisting with daily living skills.
- Commitment to assent-based, non-coercive practices and alignment with the organization’s mission of individualized, compassionate care.
- Ability to pass any required background checks and meet state and licensing requirements.
