Our The Way to Work (TWTW) program helps individuals gain the tools, training, and confidence needed to achieve lasting self-sufficiency. We’re seeking a compassionate, motivated Career Development Specialist to help clients identify, reach, and maintain their personal and professional goals.
What You’ll Do
As a Career Development Specialist, you’ll walk alongside individuals on their journey toward stable employment and greater independence. You’ll provide one-on-one coaching, lead job readiness classes, and help participants overcome barriers that stand between them and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide clients in career planning, resume writing, interview preparation, and goal setting.
- Facilitate The Way to Work’s job readiness and personal development curriculum.
- Assist clients with SNAP Employment & Training (E&T) eligibility and career development.
- Connect clients to local resources such as childcare and transportation support.
- Maintain accurate case records and program data.
- Collaborate with team members, employers, and community partners to support career success.
- Represent HOPE Ministries at community events and outreach opportunities.

You’re mission-minded, compassionate, and skilled at helping people navigate change. You value teamwork, clear communication, and celebrating progress — no matter how small.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business, workforce development, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in career services or workforce development.
- Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail with excellent record-keeping and follow-through.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and basic data management.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
