We’re offering a $500 sign-on bonus and paid certifications to help you grow with us! Are you ready to have fun while making a difference? Join our team as an awake Overnight Direct Support Professional in Norfolk.
As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide care and support to individuals in a variety of settings during overnight shifts. As a float, the successful candidate will be scheduled to work across multiple locations within the same city, ensuring consistent support for those supported. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others while working in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or other life challenges during overnight hours.
- Ensure safety and well-being of people during the night, including assistance with personal care, medication administration, and responding to needs as they arise.
- Assist clients with daily activities, including but not limited to meal preparation.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided, including progress notes, incident reports, and other documentation required.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents promptly, following all protocols and reporting procedures.
- Provide a safe and supportive environment by maintaining awake and attentive supervision throughout the shift.
- Float between different residential locations based on scheduling needs, ensuring a flexible approach to providing support.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing development.
Position Schedule: Sunday throught Wednesday 10p-8a.

Hourly Pay: $16.69 - $19.69, plus benefits!

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certifications in a related field (e.g., Human Services, Social Work, etc.) is a plus.
- Prior experience in direct care, healthcare, or social services preferred.
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and remain calm in emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to work overnight shifts and adapt to different environments in various locations.
- Must be able to lift and assist clients as necessary.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move about the facility during shifts.
- Ability to lift or assist people with mobility needs, if required.
Salary : $17 - $20
