Position Title: Development Specialist
Position Objective: Manage and cultivate relationships with existing major donors as well as identifying new prospects.
Supervisor: Development Manager
Classification: Full-time, non-exempt
Shift/Schedule: Mostly Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Occasional weekends/evenings.
Experience, Education, and Requirements:
- Previous work experience in nonprofit fundraising preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships throughout the organization and within the community
- Clear and compelling writing and speaking skills; professional phone etiquette
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to take initiative and use creativity in accomplishing goals
- Ability to multi-task, exhibit creative critical thinking and take initiative
- Mature Christian in agreement with Hope Gospel Mission’s faith statement
Summary of Responsibility:
- Empower donors to make a lasting impact by achieving their philanthropic goals through Hope Gospel Mission
- Provide donors with support and partnership
- Manage CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects
- Manage existing portfolio of donors and prospects
- Conduct solicitations and assist with donor communications
- Track results and progress through reporting and metrics
- Pursue community engagement activities that help promote Hope Gospel Mission
- Assist with planning and implementing Hope Gospel Mission events as well as recruiting attendees and sponsors
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Development Manager

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
