Educational Leader

This position will be for the 2026/2027 School Year and will start on July 1, 2026.

HOPE is looking for two Educational Leader positions to be filled. One for Elementary - Grades PreK-5 and the other for Secondary - Grades 6-12.

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00

Chief Academic Officer

Status:

Exempt, Full-Time

40 hours a week

Contract Type:

11 month contract

One (1) week off in June

One (1) week off in August.

Two (2) weeks off in December

One (1) week off for Spring Break.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Educational Leader reports directly to and partners with the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) by managing day-to-day classroom strategies that enhance the academic experience at HOPE. When teachers have the tools, resources, and a consistent PreK-12 framework that is executed school-wide, scholars gain structure and clarity to understand their growth potential.

The Educational Leader is responsible for driving instructional excellence across classrooms by ensuring high-quality teaching practices, consistent implementation of curriculum, and alignment to HOPE’s academic vision. This role serves as a key bridge between strategy and execution, translating organizational goals into actionable classroom practices that result in measurable scholar achievement.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Teacher Excellence. Lead an engaged and high-impact teacher workforce committed to driving strong academic outcomes. Ensure teachers have the tools, resources, and ongoing feedback needed to foster classroom environments where rigorous instruction, meaningful engagement, and effective academic strategies are consistently implemented to drive both academic achievement and positive behavioral outcomes.

Instructional Support. Manage and develop Instructional Coaches, guiding their approach to supporting teacher success in instruction, execution, and classroom management. Ensure alignment and consistency in coaching practices that directly impact classroom effectiveness.

Student Impact. Drive a scholar-centered approach where every student is known, identified, and supported through individualized learning and culturally responsive practices. Ensure each scholar is positioned to achieve based on their unique needs and growth trajectory.

Coaching and Mentorship. In partnership with the CAO, lead the execution of formal and informal observations, providing clear, actionable feedback and recognition to teachers, coaches, leaders, and support staff. Oversee ongoing professional development to strengthen instructional practice and ensure alignment to HOPE’s educational framework.

Classroom Management. In partnership with the Chief Impact Officer (CIO), ensure consistent implementation of HOPE’s behavior management systems across classrooms. Support teachers in building strong classroom cultures and effectively responding to scholar behavior.

Academic Partnership. Manage the day-to-day execution of strategies across specialists, SPED, Title, and ELL programs. Ensure alignment across these supports to maximize academic growth and close achievement gaps.

Data-Driven Decision Making. Utilize EDUclimber and other data dashboards to analyze scholar performance and guide instructional decisions. Partner with teachers and staff to translate data into actionable strategies that improve academic outcomes.

School Operations. Lead and oversee the monitoring of student arrivals, dismissals, lunch periods, field trips, and other school-wide activities to ensure safe, efficient, and well-structured daily operations. Establish clear systems and expectations, coordinate staff coverage, and proactively address operational challenges to maximize instructional time and maintain a positive school environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in education is highly desirable, but not required. Someone with a Principal or School Superintendent License is preferred.
  • At least seven
  • (7) years of experience working in a school setting, especially in a leadership role and/or classroom teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated record of improving student achievement outcomes, particularly for diverse and multilingual learners.
  • Strong knowledge of Minnesota Academic Standards, MCA/FastBridge assessment systems, and MDE compliance requirements.
  • Experience with EDUClimber, FASTBridge, or similar data platforms strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Hmong language programs, bilingual education, or multilingual learner programming preferred.
  • Exceptional instructional coaching, data analysis, and curriculum development skills.
  • Deep commitment to educational equity, cultural responsiveness, and HOPE's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and community-engagement skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with scholars, families, and staff of diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are performed in a school environment; school building is a multi-level building that has an elevator and is accessible. May involve movement throughout the building to support scholars in classrooms, common areas, hallways, and offices. Possible exposure to loud environments (e.g., hallways during passing periods, cafeteria, gymnasium). Some evening hours may be required for school events, family engagement activities, and cultural programs.
