Job Description

The Staff Accountant will support the accounting affairs of Es Vedra Cinemas. You will examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements, provide advice, or audit and evaluate statements prepared by others. Install or advise on systems of recording costs or other financial and budgetary data. 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Reconciles and maintains assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Analyzes income statement for several operating locations
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
• Maintain and clear general ledger reconciling items from operating bank accounts on a monthly basis
• Performs as a secondary review and approval for invoices and credit memos
• Compiling data in worksheets for month end close purposes
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
• Supports organization in compliance on as needed basis – filing sales tax, applying for permits/licenses, setting up utilities, etc.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong accounting foundation and thorough understanding of GAAP 
• Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic environment 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
• Proficient in accounting software. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. 
• Able to work independently and with a team successfully. 
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 2-3 years of related experience is preferred.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
