The Position
We are seeking a BI Developer to join our team in Martinsville, VA. This position is responsible for maintaining a data warehouse, providing business intelligence services, spearheading BI development, and surfacing Power BI reports.
Responsibilities include:
- Building Analysis Services reporting models
- Developing visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards using Power BI desktop
- Designing paginated reports to provide users with actionable information
- Connecting data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business intelligence
- Analyzing data and displaying it in reports to aid decision-making
- Recognizing business requirements in the context of BI and creating data models to transform raw data into relevant insights
- Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives and tracking them regularly
- Analytical thinking for translating data into informative reports and visuals.
- Capable of implementing row-level security on data along with an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI.
- Expert in using advanced-level calculations on the data set.
- Creating meaningful and responsive measures in data sets to surface important information
- Should be able to develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with data warehouse standards.
- Very good communication skills must be able to discuss the requirements effectively with the client teams, and with internal teams.
Requirements:
- Experience with BI tools and systems such as Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, or SAP.
- Should possess strong SQL skills
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Synapse or other ETL tools
- Must have 2-3 years of experience in data-specific roles.
- Knowledge of Microsoft BI Stack
- Grip over data analytics
- Should possess software development skills
- Familiarity with common version control standards
- Experienced with Synapse or other Version Control tools
- Experience in creating and maintaining critical Data Models in support of key analytics
- DAX experience
