What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Driver position at Hood River Distillers Inc?
SUMMARY
Primary truck driver for Hood River Distillers, Inc., with a secondary function of backup forklift driver performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
- Reads and understands bill of lading to determine assignment.
- Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer.
- Coordinates regular service of the truck with the leasing company
- Obtains customer's signature or collects payment for services.
- Gives directions to helper in packing and moving goods to trailer.
- Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products or materials.
- Maintains knowledge of ODOT and WSDOT regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of Federal laws and requirements pertaining to commercial driving and commercial carriers.
- Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed.
- Load and unload trucks when necessary.
- Responsible to know and follow HRD’s written quality guidelines.
- Responsible for following safety guidelines at all times.
- Responsible for keeping the warehouse and shipping area clean and tidy to ensure a safe work environment.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all paperwork.
- Records accurate and timely driver logs.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
- Understands and complies with all Company rules, policies, and regulations.
All duties shall be performed to company standards and in compliance with HRD’s written company policies.
