Position: PCU / Stepdown RN (Telemetry)
Location: Beckley, WV (Beckley ARH Hospital)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Start: 06/23/2026)
Shift: Days, 3x12 & 4x12 Rotating (07:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 36/48 hrs biweekly)
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of current PCU / Telemetry / Stepdown RN experience
- Experience with 1:5-1:6 patient ratios
- Experience in Level IV Trauma (or higher) preferred
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted (based on relevant experience)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- BSN - Preferred
Certifications & Licensure
- Active West Virginia RN License or Compact License (required at submission)
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (Stroke Certification)
- AVADE Level 1 & 2 - Preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must live at least 75 miles from facility
- Must be able to work 36/48 alternating weekly schedule (3x12 one week, 4x12 next)
- Every other weekend required
- Float required within scope of practice
- Maximum 1 RTO request (must be submitted upfront)
- Must accept working either a major or minor holiday
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required
Role Responsibilities
- Provide care for PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry patients with moderate to high acuity
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias
- Administer medications including cardiac drips (with/without titration)
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, and ports
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Care for patients with respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tubes)
- Treat patients with neuro, cardiac, renal, and post-surgical conditions
- Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care

- Unit: MS/Tele - 4th Floor
- Patient Ratio: 1:5 (Days/Nights), 1:4 (Weekends)
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Work Settings: PCU / Stepdown / Telemetry / Cardiac Tele
Salary : $60 - $64
