Radiology / Cardiology - Interventional Radiology
Facility: CAMC Memorial Hospital
Location: Charleston, WV
Start Date: 06/22/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:30 - 18:00)
Schedule: Monday-Friday with on-call rotation; every third weekend required
Charting System: Cerner
Float Required: Yes - Floating to CAMC General (sister facility) for 1 week required
Call Requirement: Yes - Approximately 8 days/month including 1 weekend/month with 30-minute response time
Note: First-time travelers accepted. Blocked schedule requests may be accommodated during interview process. 40 hours/week guaranteed.
Position Overview:
The Interventional Radiology Technologist will assist physicians during minimally invasive vascular and interventional procedures in a high-acuity teaching hospital environment. The technologist is responsible for maintaining sterile technique, operating fluoroscopy and imaging equipment, monitoring patients during procedures, and ensuring safe and efficient procedural workflow.
Job duties:
- Prepare procedure rooms, sterile fields, instruments, and imaging equipment for interventional radiology procedures
- Assist physicians during angiography, venography, embolization, stent placement, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid stenting, and neuro-interventional procedures
- Perform accurate patient monitoring including EKG lead placement and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Scrub and circulate during procedures while maintaining sterile technique and infection control standards
- Operate fluoroscopy and ultrasound equipment during diagnostic and therapeutic vascular procedures
- Prepare and manage vascular access sites and assist with vascular closure systems including Perclose and StarClose
- Maintain PACS documentation, stock supplies, and ensure proper equipment maintenance and inventory management
- Provide patient care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations throughout all phases of procedures
Requirements:
Licensure:
- ARRT Certification required
- West Virginia State License required (pending license accepted at submission but must be active prior to start)
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required
- Previous Charge Experience required
- Experience in Interventional Radiology work setting required
- Teaching Hospital and Community Hospital experience preferred
Certifications:
- BLS required
- ARRT R required
- ARRT VI preferred
Other requirement:
- Experience with fluoroscopy required; Siemens and ultrasound experience preferred
- Experience with sterile technique and procedural monitoring required
- Must have knowledge of PACS, equipment maintenance, and inventory management
- Candidates must reside greater than 100 miles from facility (75-99 miles considered case-by-case)
- Perm employees cannot return as travelers for 2 years after last permanent employment date
- Flu vaccine required during flu season unless medically exempt
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
