This role will provide thought leadership and process excellence to transform planning and forecasting at Honeywell. You will help make forecasting a core competency and competitive advantage for the business.
You will also develop models, systems, and processes to produce more transparent and accurate P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow forecasts while improving efficiency for the finance organization.
You lead a team of experts to enable the business units to forecast better. Your team will administer and operating system that measures forecast accuracy, identifies areas for improvement, tracks the status of actions, and measures results.
You will also partner closely with other functions on their own planning process improvements. Together you will drive greater integration of the planning processes and cycles.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Enterprise Planning & Forecasting transformation to improve accuracy and increase efficiency
- Lead a team to design, build, and implement advanced data models to drive improved forecast accuracy
- Create models for different time frames: short-range outlook (<90 days), intermediate forecasts (4-18 months), and longer-term horizons (2-5 years)
- Deliver forecast methodologies for different aspects of the financials: orders, revenue, variable cost, operating expenses, working capital, free cash flow
- Enhance workforce planning: incorporate demand and supply dynamics; link salary expense forecast to census plans
- Tune forecast models to improve accuracy over time and to incorporate new information
- Utilize drivers to increase forecast transparency for improved variance analysis and explanations
- Streamline planning cycle and processes; decrease process cycle time; rationalize number of iterations and number of participants
- Integrate forecasting of orders, income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Identify and develop leading edge tools and processes to drive new capabilities
- Provide an inquisitive approach and serve as a thought leader to identify emerging trends and implementing meaningful drivers that feed data models
- Advance integrated business planning by partnering cross-functionally
- Influence senior leaders (finance and non-finance) to refine management operating systems to facilitate better planning and forecasting
- Lead change management to drive adoption of new techniques and tools
- Develop learning curriculum strategies, including eLearning and other training solutions for both finance and non-finance stakeholders
