Honeywell’s Military Displays and Mission Computer organization has an immediate opening for a Lead Software Engineer. In this role you will lead the design, development, integration, and verification of our embedded platform software used in our Military Avionics products. Individuals with knowledge and experience developing software for robust or safety critical commercial or military aerospace applications requiring DO 178 certifications in an Agile environment highly desired. Individuals with experience working with Green Hills, Lynx, VxWorks, or DEOS RTOS and/or OpenGL preferred.
Position requires candidates to have strong communication skills that have been highly effective in working in a high performance software team environment. In addition to strong technical skills this technical leadership role also requires a strong understanding and experience in developing complex solutions within budget and schedule estimates established by the Software Team. Other key experience and knowledge to be successful in this role is the ability to engage and work with other engineering disciplines such as Systems Engineering and Hardware Engineering to maximize success during the collaborative Integration and Test phase of development. Candidates should be experienced in effectively and efficiently communicating status and escalating technical issues in a large project team environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the software design and development for military and commercial aerospace and military ground vehicle applications.
- Engage and coordinate with other engineering groups, project management, and external customers as required to execute software development tasks.
- Implement complex software solutions, resolve critical software issues, and mentor and guide junior Software engineers on assigned tasks within the project team.
