SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Provide leadership to a team of global legal professionals to make strategic decisions which impact the Intelligrated business unit. You will partner with the Business President, Sales Directors and Program Installation Leaders to drive the financial performance of a $3.5B business. In this role, you will be responsible for handling and overseeing commercial contract template development and negotiations; disputes (formal and informal); intellectual property matters (in conjunction with internal IP counsel); legal compliance; joint ventures, alliances and M&A; and the budget. You will anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems, as well as develop strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk tactically and programmatically.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leveraged by the Business President he/she will serve as a key member of the SPS Legal Team and the Intelligrated Leadership team in developing and implementing transformational business plans across the portfolio, including organic growth and new markets, as well as M&A.
Selects, directs and manages external counsel.
Gets Results: Sets clear targets. Aligns teams, resources and controls to deliver results, through peers and extended team and ensures compliance.
Works with operating business unit heads and their teams to drive growth and value creation.
Identifies and drives key levers of the business and develops mechanisms to hold people accountable.
Lead performance management, talent planning and development.
Provide leadership in the recruitment, training and development of top-quality legal talent to ensure the legal organization has a high level of performance and productivity. Instill a culture that emphasizes accountability and transparency among the legal team. Proactively develops solutions and marshals the right resources to attain short term and long-term outcomes.
