Responsibilities As an Advanced Software Engr, within our (NGA) Next-Generation Avionics group, you will impact the design, architecture and deployment of cutting-edge Flight Display Systems. As a flagship product, the Honeywell Anthem Flight Deck System is not just another avionics product; it is a visionary endeavor that employs cutting-edge technologies to redefine how pilots interact with flight information and aircraft systems. In this role, you will impact on the development and advancement of cutting-edge Avionics Flight Displays that is shaping the future of Avionics technology. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of specific software modules, deliver innovative features, implement functionalities and contribute to the overall advancement of technology. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with a passionate team of engineers and designers to create and implement forward-thinking software solutions for the Anthem Flight Display Systems. Design, develop and implement advanced software solutions for Avionics Display systems, applications and services, ensuring high performance, reliability, and functionality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design software architectures, and implement software modules. Leverage your expertise in software engineering to support innovation and deliver high-quality solutions Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure system performance and reliability Software architecture and coding Integration Certification Feature Definition Verification and Validation Stay curious and engaged with the latest advancements in avionics technology and software engineering practices, U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates Qualifications YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics 4+ years of experience in embedded software engineering Proficiency in C/C++ software development WE VALUE Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. Understanding various software development life cycles, methodologies and tools. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Open GL, etc Experience developing software in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) Experience with Avionics products is of a PLUS i.e. Displays & Graphics, Flight Mgmt, Flight Planning, Flight Controls, Flight Displays (PFD), Traffic Collision Avoidance (TCAS), Crew Alert Messaging (CAS), Terrain, Radios, etc Experience in embedded software development for aerospace, avionics, display technologies, or related industries is of value. Experience operating in an Agile framework desired Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.
