Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front desk administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring smooth operations within a busy medical practice . The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong foundation in medical terminology, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service while managing multi-line phone systems and scheduling appointments efficiently.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and collect co-pays and payment.
- Prepare patient charts and review documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of health information.
- Assist with clinical tasks including patient intake, vital signs collection, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Manage medical records and ensure proper filing, documentation review, and data entry within EMR (Electronic Medical Records).
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, ensuring all office supplies are stocked and office management procedures are followed diligently.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting with proficiency in clinic operations and front desk responsibilities.
- Familiarity with EMR is highly preferred.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and handle sensitive patient information following HIPAA guidelines.
