Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies according to established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision using various cake decorating techniques to create visually appealing products
- Operate kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, proofers, and dough sheeters safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to food safety protocols and sanitation standards throughout the shift
- Measure ingredients accurately using basic math skills to ensure consistency in recipes and product quality
- Package baked goods attractively for retail display or catering orders while ensuring freshness and proper handling
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as dough preparation, pastry assembly, and food handling for high-volume production environments
Requirements
- Proven experience in baking or pastry preparation within a food industry setting; culinary or bakery school certification is a plus
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with dough preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to hygiene standards
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while maintaining efficiency during high-volume production
- Excellent attention to detail in recipe adherence, cake decorating, and food presentation
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing portion control
- Customer service experience is preferred for roles involving direct interaction with clients or retail sales
