What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Honey Greens Cafe?
Pay Rate:
$16.50-$20 an hour plus tips based on experience and performance.
Interview will hold a test to determine your knowledge in certain coffee brewing techniques as we are only onboarding professional and serious candidates. Our ideal candidates are professionals that have sense of urgency, are team players, enjoy working in high volume fast paced environments, have customer service oriented mindset, and are dynamic individuals that truly flourish in fast paced work environments.
Requirements
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Barista experience
- Dialing in shots
- Sense of urgency
- Knowledge of milk steaming with dairy and alt milks
- Knowledge of traditional coffee recipes and steaming methods
- Knowledge of espresso machine maintenance
- Proficient in pulling shots, steaming milk
- Have a genuine interest and passion in coffee and tea
- Great attitude and takes pride in work done
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to problem solve quickly and handle multiple tasks
- Be a responsible team-player that can take initiative
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to stand for hours
- Ability to work a busy station during a rush
- Ability to receive and apply constructive criticism
Other Requirements:
- Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must retain a reasonably open availability, including weekends, and be willing to meet the current needs of the shop.

Honey Greens Barista Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly and unique experience
- Prepare orders consistently and according to recipes, with correct technique
- Maintain highest level of quality, especially during rushes
- Maintain cleanliness at bar and stations and seating area, dishes
- Retain excellent knowledge of menu of our food, drinks, pastries, and specials
- Stay updated on current promotions, new menu items, and any changes in company policies, effectively communicating to customers as needed
- Operate equipment safely and and efficiently (espresso machine, grinders, toasters, etc)
Physical Demands:
- Able to reach, bend, and stoop
- Ability to lift up 60 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work 3 back to back shifts
