Gas Station Attendant/Cashier

Duties

• Operate cash register systems (POS) efficiently for retail sales transactions, including handling cash, credit cards, and mobile payments with accuracy and integrity
• Provide friendly and professional customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and conducting product demos when appropriate
• Manage fuel pump operations and monitor station safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for staff and customers
• Stock shelves with convenience store products, merchandise displays, and grocery items, maintaining an organized and appealing store layout
• Monitor store conditions and report any issues to the manager
• Keep the cashier area, store, and customer areas clean
• Follow store safety and security procedures
• Upsell additional products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Maintain cleanliness of the station area, including fueling stations, store interior, and outdoor spaces; perform routine stocking and merchandising tasks
• Handle cash drawer balancing at the end of each shift with precise retail math skills and attention to detail
• Perform other general store duties as needed

Experience

• Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is highly preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in cash register operations (POS systems) and cash handling procedures
• Supervising experience is a plus, especially in managing team members or overseeing daily station operations
• Bilingual skills are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases effectively
• Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette to assist customers over the phone or in person
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and basic math skills for accurate transactions
• Previous experience in grocery stores or convenience stores will help you hit the ground running
