What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Teacher position at Honey Bunch Kids?
Primary goal at our childcare center is to be responsible for the overall care, well-being, and development of children in your care.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Early Childhood Credential plus 12 hours or Associate Degree in Early Childhood
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a licensed childcare center
- Current training in First Aid, CPR, SIDS preferred
Physical Requirements & Abilities
- Lift children on a regular basis
- Have mobility to ensure the safety of the children.
- Perform light cleaning duties.
- Work outdoors in any variety of weather.
- Ability to move and act quickly to a variety of situations and/or circumstances.
- Willing and able to provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as behavioral challenges, personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, and feeding.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is essential.
- Expertise in curriculum development tailored for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Experience working with children requiring special education services or early intervention programs.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques that foster positive behavior and engagement.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and specialists dedicated to child welfare.
The following responsibilities of this position are not all-inclusive, but rather describe the general nature and level of work to be performed.
General Responsibilities:
- Plan curriculum and then follow through in the teaching program.
- Plans and posts weekly activities. The Law requires written lesson plans. Lead teachers must have plans written for the week in advance.
- Be willing and able to provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as behavioral challenges, personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, and feeding.
- Know where each child is located and be aware of the children's activities at all times.
- Determine needs of supplies and equipment in advance so they may be purchased.
- Handle specific discipline problems with the children; discuss these problems with the Director, securing the Director’s approval before discussing discipline problems with the parents.
- Be sure pertinent information concerning children is passed on the afternoon staff and/or parents.
- Keep accurate attendance records on each child.
- Complete assessment reports for each child when due and schedule conferences with parents upon requests.
- Leave the classrooms orderly at the end of each day
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.50 - $14.00 per hour
