Homework Central is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit has been serving elementary school students in the San Mateo Foster City School District (SMFCSD) since 1998, with a mission to foster academic success through tutoring and family support. Working across four SMFCSD schools, HWC provides free after-school homework completion and tutoring, as well as literacy development to students who have been recommended by their teachers as needing additional support. Our students are generally behind academically and additionally face economic and other barriers.

After School Program Site Coordinator: Homework Central is a community-based educational nonprofit that provides after-school tutoring and family support to students in the San Mateo-Foster City School District. Four days a week, our staff and volunteers help elementary students strengthen their academic skills through 1:1 homework support, small-group tutoring, and enrichment activities. For more than two decades, Homework Central has helped students build confidence, achieve academic success, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Position Overview: The Site Coordinator provides leadership and facilitates the daily operations of an after-school program at an assigned school site. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Site Coordinator creates a balance of academic support, enrichment activities and family engagement that help students strengthen their academic, social, and personal development. In addition to overseeing daily site operations, the Site Coordinator provides tutoring and homework support for a classroom of up to 20 students while supervising up to two Site Assistants and up to 4 volunteer tutors per day. This position serves as the primary point of contact at the assigned site and helps ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students, staff, volunteers, and families Employment Type and Compensation: Part-time, Non-Exempt 12 – 15 hours a week $22–25 per hour based on skills and experience Benefits include: Accrued paid time off Accrued sick time Note: The working days of this position are generally aligned to the San Mateo-Foster City School District’s (SMFCSD’s) calendar, which can be found at: https://www.smfcsd.net/our-district/calendar.
