Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule transportation activities to ensure timely delivery and retrieval of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping and receiving documentation.
- Utilize mapping and transportation management software to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
- Communicate with drivers regarding their schedules, routes, and any changes that may arise.
- Communicate with customers regarding their delivery or retrieval in conjunction with driver input.
- Assist in data entry tasks related to dispatching and fleet management.
- Troubleshoot issues that may arise during transportation processes.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and retrieval of inventory.
- Additional responsibilities on an as needed basis.
Skills
- Proficiency in mapping platforms for route planning and optimization.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with transportation planning processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
- Previous dispatching experience is highly desirable.
