Assistant Infant Teacher
Hometown Health Center Childcare Program
Hometown Health Center is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Infant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants. This role works collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to meet the daily care needs of infants while maintaining a calm, professional classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with implementing age-appropriate curriculum and daily routines for infants
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
- Anticipate and respond to infants’ individual needs with care and attentiveness
- Communicate clearly and professionally with the Lead Teacher
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations
- Participate in required trainings, meetings, and DHHS requirements
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent required (or currently enrolled)
- CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- Must pass DHHS background checks
- Registered with Maine Roads to Quality or willing to become registered
Preferred:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
