Electronic Systems Technician (Contractor to Full-Time Potential)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electronic Systems Technician to join our team on a contract basis with the potential to transition to a full-time position based on performance. This role is ideal for a reliable, hands-on technician with strong electronics and mechanical skills who thrives in troubleshooting, field service, and low voltage installations. Successful contractors who demonstrate technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a strong work ethic may be offered full-time employment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic equipment, diagnosing issues accurately.
• Perform low voltage system installations and repairs.
• Disassemble and reassemble electronic components using mechanical knowledge.
• Provide on-site field service support, ensuring high-quality customer interactions.
• Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide repairs and installations.
• Assist with computer networking tasks, including troubleshooting connectivity issues.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and service performed.
• Use hand tools and specialized equipment to complete tasks efficiently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and customer needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in electronics equipment repair and maintenance.
• Familiarity with low voltage systems and installations.
• Mechanical aptitude for disassembling and reassembling electronic components.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
• Basic proficiency in computer networking and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
• Knowledge of computer hardware components and configurations.
• Skilled in using hand tools and specialized equipment for repairs.
• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
• Valid driver’s license (required for field service).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for on-site work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a service technician in the electronics industry.
• Certifications in electronics, low voltage systems, or related fields.
• Experience with customer-facing field service roles.
