Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Server/Server to join our dynamic team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent customer relations skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction in a fine dining or casual restaurant setting. Prior restaurant experience and familiarity with food safety standards are highly valued. The pay starts out at $4.00 per hr plus tips and bonuses for great performance, we are a new restaurant and we are still building our customer base with great reviews on Google, we are looking for people that are ready to grow with the company.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using POS systems
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tables, service stations, and dining areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting for new guests, and supporting kitchen staff as needed
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, specials, and wine pairings
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns professionally and courteously
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments; fine dining experience is a plus
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests effectively
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest satisfaction and sales
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Basic math skills for cash handling and billing accuracy
- Experience with reservation systems like OpenTable is advantageous
- Familiarity with food preparation, serving techniques, and hospitality best practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights; previous host/host or bussing experience is beneficial
