What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grinder/Machine Operator position at Homeland Vinyl Products?
Overview
The role of a Grinder Operator is to ensure efficient processing of non-conforming product through the grinding equipment, measured by pounds per hour. As this is a process that does not add back to the profitability of the product but assists in the reduction of the overall waste cost, throughput with attention to safe working practices are key.
Ability to perform basic math calculations
Ability to maintain a safe, clean work environment
Ability to operate a forklift and complete required training
Maintain all associated written reports
Ability to weigh/record material accurately
Ability to operate various equipment, such as a chop saw, pressurized air tools, pneumatic impact gun, wrenches, etc.
Understanding of product color and type variations

Ability to stand, climb, carry, drive and/or walk for 8 to 12 hour shifts, as schedule demands
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs., with repetition, and on occasion up to 40 lbs.
Ability to move parts from one location to another, as needed
Ability to work 12 hours per day and 42 hours per week, as scheduled
Ability to withstand loud/physical environment, with the use of provided PPE

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 42 per week
