Senior Software Engineer, ERP Platform

Job Summary

Homeland Talent Solutions is representing a growing EdTech software organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer – ERP Platform & Integration Architecture (.NET/C#) to help design and build the next generation of its enterprise ERP platform.

This position is part of a major modernization initiative focused on transforming legacy ERP applications into a modern, domain-driven platform architecture. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, integration architecture, event-driven systems, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled software modernization. The individual hired will play a key role in establishing the foundational architecture that connects multiple ERP products, services, workflows, and business domains across the enterprise.

The Senior Software Engineer will serve as a hands-on technical leader responsible for building and scaling the ERP platform layer that supports multiple business-critical applications.

This role will focus heavily on: ERP platform architecture API gateway development, Event-driven integrations, Domain-driven design, Enterprise-scale C#/.NET development, Cloud-native services, and AI-assisted engineering workflows .

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with platform architecture experience and understands how to build scalable integration frameworks that connect complex enterprise systems. This is considered one of the more senior engineering hires on the team and requires an individual capable of influencing architecture decisions while remaining highly hands-on technically.

Responsibilities

ERP Platform Architecture

• Design and develop next-generation ERP platform architecture
• Establish scalable integration patterns across ERP products and business domains
• Create reusable platform services supporting future product modernization initiatives
• Build enterprise-grade API gateway infrastructure
• Design and implement monitoring, observability, and integration frameworks
• Define canonical data contracts and integration standards

Event-Driven Systems & Integration

• Design asynchronous processing workflows supporting ERP operations
• Build publish/subscribe architectures and event-driven integrations
• Develop scalable messaging frameworks supporting enterprise transactions
• Create integration services connecting multiple ERP applications and shared services
• Support hybrid cloud and on-premise integration strategies

Modern Software Engineering

• Design and develop enterprise applications using:
• C#
• NET / NET Core
• ASPNET
• SQL Server
• REST APIs
• Implement scalable architecture patterns including:
• Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Dependency Injection
• Repository Pattern
• Event-Based Messaging
• Build reusable application frameworks and shared platform components

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Design and support AWS-based platform services
• Work with technologies including:
• API Gateway
• EventBridge
• Lambda
• SQS
• Build secure and scalable cloud-native integrations
• Support platform reliability, monitoring, and performance optimization

AI-Enabled Engineering

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and workflows
• Contribute to modernization initiatives utilizing agentic AI frameworks
• Help establish engineering processes that accelerate modernization efforts while maintaining software quality and platform stability
• Partner with engineering leadership to evaluate and implement emerging AI-driven development capabilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• 8 years of software engineering experience
• Strong expertise with:
• C#
• NET / NET Core
• SQL Server
• REST APIs
• Enterprise application development
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale platform architectures
• Experience building API gateways and integration frameworks
• Experience with event-driven systems and asynchronous processing
• Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems
• Experience working within AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
• Strong software architecture, design, and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work independently on highly visible technical initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• ERP platform experience
• Financial systems or payroll systems experience
• Experience designing publish/subscribe architectures
• Experience implementing event-driven integration platforms
• AWS experience including: API Gateway, EventBridge, Lambda, and SQS
• Experience with React and TypeScript
• Experience with AI-assisted software development
• Experience with agentic AI workflows and orchestration frameworks
• Experience modernizing large enterprise applications
• Experience working with highly integrated legacy platforms

• Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite)
• Dallas/Plano, Texas area
• Candidates should be comfortable collaborating onsite with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams
