The Financial Analyst II – Finance & Special Projects will support strategic financial initiatives, project management, and data analysis to drive informed decision-making across the health system. The Financial Analyst II will play a key role in improving the annual budgeting process, ensuring accuracy in operating and capital budgets, and advancing enterprise-wide Performance Excellence initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, monitoring, and analyzing the operating budget to ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve budget efficiency and financial performance
- Collaborate with business unit leadership to identify key budget assumptions and drivers, supporting their budget-development process
- Support the preparation and review of the capital budget to prioritize strategic investments
- Analyze spending trends and prepare reports to ensure alignment with enterprise priorities
- Identify opportunities to improve the budgeting process and provide recommendations to finance leadership
- Assist in long-term capital planning, ensuring alignment with the health system’s strategic objectives
- Evaluate and prioritize capital investment proposals for financial viability and strategic fit using financial analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling
- Manage submission, tracking, and reporting of capital requests and funding, ensuring compliance with budgets and policies
- Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain transparency on approved projects, their status, and budget balances
- Serve as a key driver for the enterprise’s Performance Excellence initiative, guiding business units toward success in their plans
- Support planning for strategic market growth, including coordination of RFPs, valuations, market analyses, and due diligence
- Coordinate and oversee integration efforts to consolidate initiatives and processes, ensuring effective integration with new business units
- Provide detailed financial reports and analyses to support CFO decision-making and respond to requests from financial leadership
- Support initiatives to identify and implement process improvements across financial operations
- Assist in developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure organizational success
- Work effectively in ambiguous situations and provide structure to unstructured requests
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards; complete required annual education assignments; participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited program; advanced degree or CPA preferred
- Minimum of four (4) years of healthcare financial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary of $80,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience, with relocation assistance available when applicable.
