Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for all patient accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement
- Oversee billing, credit, collections, and customer service operations to support organizational financial goals
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize accounts receivable performance and streamline processes
- Monitor payer trends and regulatory updates, including Medicare, Medicaid, TennCare, and managed care changes
- Lead, mentor, and develop managers and staff to foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and service
- Collaborate with hospital departments, medical staff, and senior leadership to resolve complex issues and enhance the patient financial experience
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure responsible resource utilization aligned with system-wide goals
- Bachelor’s degree required (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- At least five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital business office or healthcare revenue cycle setting
- Strong understanding of payer regulations, billing and collections processes, and patient financial services
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, enhancing workflows, and delivering measurable performance results
