Job Summary
Homeland has partnered with a leading regional healthcare system to hire a Cybersecurity Engineer. The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for the technical implementation and ongoing management of cybersecurity measures across the organization. This role requires extensive hands-on work with security technologies, the development and maintenance of security protocols, and the safeguarding of sensitive data.
The Cybersecurity Engineer also collaborates closely with cross-functional IT teams to integrate security solutions into business projects and organizational systems, while ensuring continued compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, SIEM, and endpoint protection
- Administer security for network infrastructure, AD/Azure AD, and M365 environments
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents; perform risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and forensics as needed
- Lead technical response to security breaches and support identity and access management (IAM) controls
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards through proper security controls and documentation
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into systems, applications, and business projects
- Provide staff training on cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats
- Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, protocols, and incident reports
- Conduct routine and ad-hoc security audits to verify adherence to security policies and standards
- Develop, update, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures
- Manage, troubleshoot, and monitor security infrastructure hardware and software
- Support the development and ongoing refinement of the organization’s information security strategy
- Follow organizational policies and participate in quality improvement initiatives; perform other related duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of IT/technology experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience designing, engineering, and implementing enterprise-level security solutions
- Required industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, CEH, Microsoft Azure Engineer, or equivalent
- Ability to meet Type D physical requirements
