REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist in providing academic intervention in small group settings and facilitate mathematical literacy integration.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares for and implements small group activities under the supervision of a highly qualified teacher.
- Works with students to deliver direct instruction.
- Maintains confidentiality concerning student records, data and personal information.
- Utilizes planning time in the classroom under the direction of the teacher.
- Guides independent study and enrichment work.
- Supervises a small group of students.
- Assists students by providing proper examples, emotional support, and a friendly attitude.
- Confers with teacher concerning materials to meet students’ needs.
- Participates in Professional Development activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185 days (if hired for full contract calendar). Teaching Assistant Salary Schedule as determined by the salary schedule established by the Board.
EVALUATED BY: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the principal.
