Delivery Dispatcher

We have an immediate need for an experienced Delivery Dispatcher to join our team at a home furniture and appliance delivery warehouse office in Tolleson, AZ. We are a leading national final mile company providing home delivery and logistics solutions for world-class furniture and appliance retailers such as Mor, RH, Costco, La-Z-Boy, Ashley Furniture and others.

This energetic person will perform a variety of jobs, including communicating with delivery drivers, processing delivery paperwork and orders, assisting with the maintenance of computer billing files, 'checking in' returning drivers and helping solve delivery customer problems. Local delivery experience and in-depth knowledge of the Phoenix area geography and traffic patterns are a big plus. Basic computer skills, people skills, a professional appearance, and a strong work ethic are all required.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls from drivers, customers, clients and then record/relay significant information
• Maintain electronic billing records used to prepare invoices
• Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
• Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance
• Use a phone or computer to review and record information.
• Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate efficient delivery performance.
• Provide field units with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements
• Enter data and delivery status in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other information
• Facilitate delivery driver 'check in' process late in the day.

Skills

• Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
• Tech-savvy with user proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps (Excel experience required)
• Spanish speaking is preferred.
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment and critical thinking

The most qualified candidates will have experience in a home delivery or transportation operation office. Must be people-oriented and able to communicate well by phone with drivers and customers. Typical shifts will be morning to late afternoon. Friday and Sundays off.
