Infant Nanny Position

Location: Melrose, MA
Schedule: Wednesdays 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM; Fridays 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 18
Compensation: $30.00 per hour
Start Date: Late August

Position Overview

A family is seeking a caring, reliable, and experienced part-time nanny for their infant son. This is a part-time role centered on attentive, engaged infant care, following the family's established routines for feeding, naps, and play.

Benefits: 1 week vacation, 2 personal days, 2 sick days, 3 paid holidays

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, attentive care for the infant, supervising at all times
• Follow family routines for feeding (bottle/breastmilk handling), naps, diapering, soothing, and play
• Engage in age-appropriate sensory and developmental activities, including tummy time, talking and singing, reading aloud, and simple toys
• Track feedings, naps, diapers, and mood to share with parents
• Follow safe sleep practices and documented feeding and sleeping plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment: sanitize bottles and feeding area, wipe high-contact surfaces, and tidy play areas
• Manage baby-related laundry (small loads)
• Warm bottles, wash bottles, and sterilize pump parts as requested
• Monitor the baby's health and behavior and notify parents immediately of any concerns or injuries
• Arrive 5–10 minutes early to receive handoff and notes

Requirements

• Prior infant care experience
• Infant CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfortable following parent-provided feeding and sleeping plans and safe sleep practices
• Non-smoker
• Fully vaccinated per family preference
• Reliable, punctual, and communicative; smartphone for updates and photos is helpful
• Comfortable around dogs (the household has one dog; a dog walker is employed)
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
