Afterschool Nanny Position

Compensation: $28–$32/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–6:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 20 hours/week

Overview
A family in Madison, NJ is looking for a dependable, long-term part-time nanny for their two children, a 9-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter. The nanny will run the afternoons. That means picking the kids up from school about 10–15 minutes from home (some days are covered by carpool), driving them to sports and play dates, and keeping the household on track with cooking, laundry, and tidying. Driving is a big part of the role, so the family provides a vehicle and parking. The home is on a busy street, so the nanny needs to stay alert to traffic safety. The family keeps a screen-free household and values someone organized, proactive, and comfortable with both a school-age child and a teen. In summer the children attend camps, and the schedule stays close to the school-year routine. A cleaning service handles periodic deep cleaning.

Responsibilities:

• Daily school pickup and safe transportation to sports, activities, and play dates
• Homework support and keeping the children organized with school assignments
• Cooking and meal prep for the children and family
• Family laundry
• Unloading the dishwasher and general tidying to keep the home organized
• Encouraging screen-free activities and age-appropriate independence
• Clear, consistent communication with parents about each day’s activities and any concerns

Requirements:

• Prior experience caring for school-age children and/or teens
• Valid driver’s license, and comfortable driving the family’s vehicle
• Strong cooking skills
• Long-term commitment to the role
• Availability Monday–Friday, 2:00–6:00 PM
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
