Full-Time Nanny r– Port Washington, NY
$28–$35/hour DOE | Full-Time | Long-Term Position | Start Date: ASAP
A warm, welcoming family in Port Washington, NY is seeking a nurturing, engaging, and organized Nanny to become an important part of their family for years to come.
The family has two young boys, ages 2 and 4. The 4-year-old attends school full-time, while the 2-year-old will remain home for one more year before beginning preschool. They are looking for someone who truly enjoys spending their days interacting with young children—reading books, encouraging curiosity, planning fun activities, and creating a warm, engaging environment where children can learn and thrive.
The family is very close with their extended family, and both grandmothers typically visits once each week to spend time with their grandchildren. They are warm, respectful and are not bossy or intrusive, and are happy to connect with their grandchildren and provide you with a break. During their visits, the nanny will have the opportunity to shift focus to household tasks like organization and light housekeeping. There is no deep cleaning required.
The family hopes to find someone who is interested in growing with them for many years. While this position is focused on their two boys today, infant experience is preferred, as they may expand their family in the future. They are not currently expecting.
Schedule:
The schedule for this position follows Mom's work schedule and alternates throughout the week:
- On "even" days. i.e. 2nd, 4th, 6th etc: 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- On "odd" days, i.e. 1st, 3rd, 5th etc: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
This is a full-time, long-term position.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving, and developmentally appropriate care for the 2-year-old
- Plan engaging activities including reading, arts and crafts, outdoor play, educational games, and learning experiences
- Transport the 4-year-old to and from school
- Drive both children to activities, parks, library programs, and playdates
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
- Children's laundry and organization
- Maintain children's bedrooms and play areas
- Assist with household organization, errands, and light house management while children are with grandparents or at school
- Help the home stay organized and running smoothly
- Partner closely with parents to maintain routines and consistency
