What are the responsibilities and job description for the Live In Nanny - New Canaan, CT - $35-$45/hr position at Home Staffing by Rina?
Live-In Nanny / House Manager – New Canaan, CT
$35–$45/hour DOE | Full-Time | Live-In | Long-Term Position
A warm, thoughtful family in New Canaan, CT is seeking an experienced Live-In Nanny/House Manager to become a valued part of their family for the long term.
The parents welcomed their children later in life and are deeply invested in providing a loving, supportive, and enriching environment for them. They have two wonderful children: a bright and curious 4-year-old daughter and a sweet, easygoing 18-month-old son.
Their daughter has been diagnosed with high-functioning autism and ADHD. She is exceptionally bright, highly verbal, and thrives with structure, encouragement, and individualized support. (Years ago, many children with a similar presentation would have received a diagnosis of Asperger syndrome.) She currently receives ABA therapy, and the family is looking for a nanny who is excited to become part of that collaborative team by reinforcing strategies, celebrating progress, and helping her continue to thrive.
Their 18-month-old son is described as a calm, affectionate little boy who loves exploring the world around him. Since his sister attends school during the day, he will be the nanny's primary focus for the coming year. Once he begins a part-day preschool program next year, the role will naturally evolve to include additional household management responsibilities while the children are in school.
The children's grandmother lives with the family for part of the year, creating a warm, multigenerational household.
Mom works in New York City several days each week, and the family is looking for someone who enjoys becoming a trusted extension of the parents while helping the household run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Provide loving, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for the 18-month-old
- Support the 4-year-old before and after school and reinforce routines and strategies recommended by her therapy team

- Foster confidence, independence, communication, and emotional regulation
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
- Children's laundry and organization

- Drive children to school, activities, appointments, and outings as needed
- As the younger child begins preschool, transition into a greater house management role, including:
- Household organization

- Children's supplies and inventory
- Meal preparation as needed
- Helping keep the household organized and running efficiently
- No deep cleaning is required.

- Comfortable collaborating with therapists and implementing recommended strategies
- Organized, proactive, and dependable
- Engaging and creative with young children
- Calm under pressure and able to provide consistent routines
