Transport Driver

Summary/Objective:

Home Service Oil Co. is seeking to hire CDL Class A Fuel Transport drivers. The Transport Driver ensures fuel oil, lubricating oil, or petroleum gas arrives safely at customer sites. Our trucks are located in Barnhart, and drivers transport fuel locally. 

Pay: 

• Starting pay $28.00/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

• Drives tank truck to deliver gasoline, fuel oil, lubricating oil, or liquefied petroleum gas to customers.
• Reads gauges or meters and records quantity loaded.
• Records amount delivered and issues tickets to customers.
• Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip or tour of duty.
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and in or out of tight areas.
• Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including drivers record of duty status, mileage records, and other records required by law.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
• Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
• Report highway safety hazards noted while in route.
• Promptly report any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies, or in the event of irregularities relating to pick up or delivery.
• Perform required before-, during- and after-operation user maintenance and provide required reports.
• Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
• Maintain all required certifications, including a CDL with hazardous material certification

Physical Demands:

The Physical Demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Available Shifts: 

• Monday - Friday, nights starting at 5:00pm. This shift has a $1.00/hr. shift differential. 

Travel:

Regional driving. Home every night.

Minimum Driver Qualifications:

• At least 25 years of age
• CDL Class A with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements - No Hazmat Endorsement, not a problem! We will reimburse the cost to obtain one, just bring your receipt with you to orientation and we will take care of the rest!
• At least 2 years of verifiable Tractor Trailer experience
• Gas or fuel delivery driver experience a plus
• Able to pass DOT physical and drug screen
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• No DUIs, DWIs, or reckless driving violations in the past 7 years
• No positive or refused drug or alcohol tests in the past 3 years

Required license or certification:
CDL Class A with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements - No Hazmat Endorsement, not a problem! We will reimburse the cost to obtain one, just bring your receipt with you to orientation and we will take care of the rest!
