Home Helpers Home Care of Manassas-Gainesville is looking for reliable, flexible, and dedicated caregivers to join our team in a unique Standby / On-Call Caregiver role. This position is ideal for someone who has open availability, is ready to work on short notice, and enjoys stepping in to make a difference when help is most needed.
SPECIFIC SCHEDULE:
On-call coverage during pre-assigned days and times (shifts may rotate weekly) including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Has minimal outside time commitments (such as family obligations)
- Is seeking consistent hours in a flexible but essential role
- Works well under pressure and enjoys variety in daily assignments
Responsibilities:
- Be available to respond to urgent shift needs within 1 hour of notification
- Provide short-term or emergency coverage for caregivers who are unavailable
- Deliver safe, compassionate care including assistance with daily living activities (bathing, grooming, meals, transfers, companionship, etc.)
- Follow established care plans and document visits accurately
- Communicate promptly and professionally with the office team
Work Environment:
- Must have reliable transportation and a flexible schedule
- Travel required throughout Prince William County and surrounding areas
- Must be open to working overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts (rotate with other caregivers as needed)
- Weekly standby schedule can rotate based on availability and team needs
Qualifications:
- CNA, HHA, or prior caregiving experience preferred
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Clear background check and valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Strong communication, reliability, and problem-solving skills
Compensation:
- Hourly pay for any shifts worked: $18.00–$20.00/hour
- Standby retainer pay may be available for designated on-call windows
