Job Overview
Home City Development, Inc. is seeking skilled Maintenance professionals to join our growing team to include (2) Maintenance Technicians.
Home City is a mission-driven, regional affordable housing owner and developer in Western Massachusetts expanding its internal property management platform as part of a broader organizational transformation to become a fully integrated housing organization. The organization owns a diversified portfolio of multifamily, scattered-site, supportive housing, and adaptive re-use properties totaling 525 units, with additional units in development.

Position Overview
The Maintenance Team is responsible for the physical condition, safety, and functionality of the organization's affordable housing portfolio.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance repair activities.
This role report to the Director of Facilities and work closely with property management to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
- Complete work orders in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
- Perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Ensure properties and units are safe, functional, and well maintained.
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure building and grounds are clean and orderly, including janitorial.
Preventative Maintenance
- Execute preventative maintenance programs across the portfolio.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, systems, and common areas.
- Identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
Unit Turnover
- Prepare vacant units for occupancy, including repairs and inspections.
- Ensure units meet quality and readiness standards within established timelines.
Systems & Building Oversight
- Maintain and monitor building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and perform repairs.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain safe working conditions and proper use of equipment.
- Respond to emergency maintenance needs, including on-call responsibilities.
Qualifications
Maintenance Technician ($24-27/hour)
- 2 years of maintenance or related experience.
- Working knowledge of building systems and repairs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications (All Roles)
- Experience in affordable housing or multifamily housing.
- EPA certification, OSHA certification, HVAC certification, or trade licenses preferred.
- Experience with REAC/NSPIRE preferred.
