Home Careolina is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide professional home care support to a male client, Cornelius, NC diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities while promoting independence and engagement, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. This role requires weekday availability to provide reliable care and companionship.

Responsibilities

• Provide intelligent interaction and companionship to keep client mentally stimulated.
• Assist client with small projects such as organizing, tidying, and sorting items for donation.
• Accompany client on outings to local places like the Raptor Center or similar locations when weather permits.
• Monitor client's cognitive needs, including reminders for tasks and medication prompts.
• Ensure client wears his back brace before physical activities and remind him to use hearing aids if forgotten.
• Assist with AM and PM medication reminders; note that wife manages medication administration.
• Support client with errands including driving to local nurseries, hardware stores, Habitat for Humanity, and the N Meck Rec Center.
• Perform client's laundry and light housekeeping tasks including vacuuming, kitchen cleaning after meals, trash removal, dishwasher unloading, bed making, and tidying.
• Assist with meal preparation and encourage hydration throughout the day.
• Ensure clients safety by providing supervision, as he is independent in walking but not left alone.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Previous caregiving experience preferred, especially with clients diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.
• Ability to provide companionship and engage clients in conversation and activities.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to assist with light housekeeping, errands, and mobility support..
• Must be able to follow care plans and communicate effectively with family members and care managers.
